Swine flu: Is it any worse than the flu humans contract?

So there’s been some rumors flying around about some swine flu. 8 reported cases in the US last time I checked, and they’ve all recovered (good news!). So, I’m curious, is there any difference between the human influenza and swine influenza viruses in terms of symptoms? Is one more likely to result in death than the other? Does one have harsher symptoms than the other?

I need answers, and I know this is a good place to turn to!
